Braves Bullpen Sets Atlanta Franchise Record with 54 Straight Hitless Batters

The Atlanta Braves tweeted today that the team’s bullpen hasn’t allowed a hit for 54 consecutive batters, setting an Atlanta franchise record. The streak has spanned four full games, in which the Braves have gone 3-1.

The last hit allowed by a Braves reliever came when Josh Collmenter surrendered a single to Toronto’s Chris Coghlan to lead off the seventh inning in a 9-0 Blue Jays win.

Since then, seven different pitchers have combined for 16.1 innings of hitless and scoreless baseball to help Atlanta win a series against the National League East-leading Nationals and start a series against Pittsburgh with a victory.
